Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has acknowledged the challenge posed by Cameroon but insists he has full confidence in his team ahead of their crucial Group D encounter at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana will take on Cameroon on Sunday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with both teams heading into the fixture on the back of opening-day victories.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, the Swedish tactician admitted that Cameroon will provide a stern test but believes facing strong opposition brings out the best in his players.

“It is going to be a tough game against Cameroon, but I know my team very well, and I believe in them,” Bjorkegren said.

“A difficult opponent usually means that we are a better Ghana team,” he added.

A win for the Black Queens will secure their qualification to the quarterfinals of the tournament, giving them a strong position as they continue their quest for a deep run in the competition.

Ghana are also targeting a place in the semifinals, which would guarantee qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

Kick-off for the highly anticipated encounter is scheduled for 17:00 GMT.
