Cameroon booked their place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ghana in Casablanca.

The decisive moment came in the first half when the referee awarded Cameroon a penalty following a VAR review for a handball by Ghana defender Benedicte Simon.

The Black Queens responded strongly after the break, creating several chances through captain Portia Boakye, Doris Boaduwaa and substitute Evelyn Badu.

Badu thought she had levelled the score midway through the second half, but her effort was ruled out for offside.

Despite dominating long spells of the second half, Ghana could not find a breakthrough as Cameroon defended resolutely to preserve their perfect record and secure qualification for the last eight.

The defeat leaves Ghana on three points and needing a positive result against Mali in their final Group D fixture to keep their quarter-final hopes alive, while Cameroon have advanced with six points from two matches.
