Thu, 10 Mar 2011 Source: Ghana Cycling Association

Plans are for advanced for the commencement of the 9-day “Cowbell National

Cycling Tour of Ghana” which begins from the 1st to 9th April 2011. The

initiative which was primarily instituted by leading beverage sponsor Promasidor

Ghana, seeks to throw more educational light on the importance of cycling as

well as helping in its development and promotion in Ghana.

It would be recalled that, Promasidor Ghana Limited ensured Ghana’s

participation at last year’s African Cycling Championship in Kigali, Rwanda for

the first time in cycling but for which Ghana would have been disassociated from

the world governing body-UCI (Union of Cycling International).

With the injection of over GH¢200,000.00 into this year’s tour, it has already

caught up with other affiliate sponsors who are ready to support the cause of

promoting the sport. The Ghana Cycling Association is humbled by this

professionalism in sponsorship demonstrated by Promasidor Ghana (Cowbell)

Limited and is committed in acknowledging Promasidor Ghana Limited as partner in

promoting cycling in Ghana.

A crucial meeting between officials of the Ghana Cycling Federation and

Promasidor Ghana Limited last Tuesday concretized this upcoming event and indeed

it was projected to a sustainable long term period of 5 years.

The full details of press accreditation and professionalism in reportage and

coverage of this tour will be communicated to the Press at the official launch

on Friday 18th March, at Media Centre, Accra Sports Stadium from 10 am to 12 pm.

The Cycling Association, in finality, would want to thank Promasidor Ghana

Limited for this esteemed sponsorship and commitment towards the development of

the Sport.
