GPL players named in the ongoing transfer
Ghana Premier League clubs continue to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2026/27 season, with a number of transfers completed while several deals remain in progress.
Transfer updates as reported by sports journalist Shaban Mohammed on several deals already been completed, while a number of other transfers are at advanced stages.
Completed Transfers
FC Samartex have completed the signing of Vision FC midfielder Meshack Adjetey Sowah on a permanent deal.
The Samreboi-based club reached a club-to-club agreement with Vision FC after beating competition from Hearts of Oak for the midfielder’s signature.
Former Hohoe United right-back Prince Amevor has also completed his permanent move to Hearts of Oak. The defender has signed a three-year contract with the Phobians after completing his medical.
Asante Kotoko have welcomed back midfielder Richard Boadu, who has signed a two-year contract on a permanent deal.
Karela United have completed the signing of goalkeeper Kwaku Musah, who has signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
The club have also secured Golden Warriors defensive midfielder Abdul Basit Isa on a permanent deal.
Francis Odoom has completed his permanent move from Hohoe United to Heart of Lions, while Micheal Ephson has left the Lions to join Egyptian side Modern Sport FC.
Here are the latest completed signings and transfer gossip in the Ghana Premier League
FC AshantiGold have completed the signing of former Attram De Visser attacker Alhassan Benny, while Richmond Nsiah Coka has joined Nations FC from Young Apostles on a permanent deal.
Ongoing Transfers
FC Samartex are closing in on the signing of Eleven Wonders centre-back Hamza Musah. The deal is progressing, with the defender expected to sign his contract with the club.
At Asante Kotoko, goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim is already training with the team, but is yet to sign his contract. Negotiations are reportedly in the final stages, with a two-year deal and a one-year extension option being discussed.
Kotoko have also shown strong interest in Vision FC right-back Emmanuel Sanja, although the defender has attracted interest from clubs abroad.
Hearts of Oak remain in talks to sign Dreams FC forward John Antwi. The deal is still alive and could be completed before the August 23 deadline.
The Phobians are also negotiating with former Swedru All Blacks midfielder Ebenezer Amoh.
Heart of Lions are in advanced talks to sign former Hohoe United winger Sena Ati after his proposed move to Hearts of Oak collapsed.
Berekum Chelsea are pushing to sign free-agent midfielder Godfred Boakye, while Ivorian midfielder Amidou Diarra is expected to complete his move to the club after switching from Hearts of Oak.
Karela United have reached an agreement on personal terms with Eleven Wonders midfielder Angel Ewulla, with club-to-club negotiations still ongoing.
Deoartures
Hearts of Oak have confirmed the departure of Stephen Appiah Asare following the expiration of his contract.
The Phobians have also parted ways with Theophilus Collinson and Enoch Asubonteng, while Hamza Issah and Mawuli Wayo have also left the club following their transfers.
Meanwhile, Amidou Diarra’s proposed move to Hearts of Oak is OFF. The Ivorian midfielder stopped training with the club and has switched camp, with Berekum Chelsea now his likely destination.
At Heart of Lions, Micheal Ephson has departed for Egyptian side Modern Sport FC on a permanent deal.
