Danlad Ibrahim has joined Asante Kotoko
Asante Kotoko have completed the return of goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, with the shot-stopper signing a two-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper returns to Kumasi after spending the past two years with Ethiopian Premier League side Ethiopia Coffee, where he continued his development and gained valuable experience outside Ghana.
Danlad had earlier established himself at Kotoko after joining the club from King Faisal.
He played a key role in the club’s 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title-winning campaign, helping the Porcupine Warriors end an eight-year wait for the league trophy.

His performances at Kotoko also earned him recognition with the Black Stars, while he was part of Ghana’s squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The goalkeeper initially returned to Kotoko’s setup for pre-season as the club assessed the possibility of bringing him back permanently.
Reports in July 2026, indicated that Hearts of Oak and clubs in Ethiopia were also interested in securing his services.
Kotoko have now secured his signature as head coach Eric Tinkler continues to shape his squad for the new campaign.
Danlad’s return provides competition and experience in the goalkeeping department as the Porcupine Warriors look to improve on their previous campaign and mount a stronger challenge in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.
