Morocco remains the African country with the highest number of stadiums approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), underlining its growing reputation for football infrastructure.

The North African country currently has 16 venues that have received CAF approval, putting it comfortably ahead of the rest of the continent.

South Africa follows in second place with 13 approved stadiums, while Egypt has eight and Algeria seven.

Mali and Cameroon each have five approved venues, with Libya, Tunisia and Uganda recording three apiece.

Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo have two approved stadiums each, while Tanzania, Zanzibar and South Sudan have one apiece.

Eleven countries currently have no CAF-approved stadium.

They are Benin, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Eritrea, Lesotho, Madagascar, São Tomé and Príncipe, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia and Sudan.

The situation means clubs and national teams from those countries may have to play their home matches at approved venues outside their borders.
