Linda Owusu Ansah is the captain for the Black Princess
Black Princesses captain Linda Owusu Ansah has acknowledged the difficulty of Ghana’s group at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana will face Ecuador, Korea Republic and France in Group D as they prepare for a record eighth consecutive appearance at the tournament.
Owusu Ansah was instrumental in Ghana’s qualification, scoring the decisive goal against Uganda in Kampala to secure their place at the global tournament.
Despite Ghana’s impressive record at the U-20 World Cup, the captain admits the Black Princesses will have to be at their best to progress from the group.
“I won't lie; we are in a very tough group. France, Korea Republic and Ecuador are all great football nations, but we will try our best to make it out of the group stages,” she told FIFA.
“We know it will be a huge challenge for us, but we are Ghana, and we always love challenges”she added.
Owusu Ansah is expected to bring valuable experience into the tournament after featuring for the Black Queens at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

She helped the senior national team reach the quarter-finals and secure a playoff place in the race for qualification to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The midfielder believes her experience at the WAFCON will be crucial as she prepares to lead the Black Princesses.
“I feel like taking part in the WAFCON will help in my World Cup preparation in the sense that I will be able to train and play with very experienced players and learn a lot from them”.
“So, coming into the U-20 World Cup, I will be coming with a little bit of experience,” she added.
