Ghanaian superstar Mohammed Kudus’ starting role at Tottenham Hotspur is under threat following the club’s pursuit of two attacking reinforcements.

Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush have been targeted by Spurs to enhance their attacking options and increase competition in the squad.

Brazilian winger Savinho is expected to cost around £75 million plus add-ons, while Egyptian forward Marmoush is also valued at a similar amount, with talks ongoing to finalize both deals.

The potential arrivals pose a direct challenge to Kudus, who will now face competition for the right-wing position from Savinho.

Since joining Spurs, Kudus has largely operated on the right wing, delivering impressive performances and providing key assists to support the strikers.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi will ultimately decide who starts in that role, basing his choice on performance levels, as the club seeks consistency to avoid another relegation battle.

Despite the expected competition, Kudus’ versatility—being able to play as a right winger, left winger, number 10, attacking midfielder, and occasionally as a forward—could still secure him a place in the starting lineup.

With Kudus battling injuries, he will need to work diligently to retain his spot if the two signings are completed. Tactical adjustments could also see all three attackers starting together, depending on the system.

Kudus has been undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation process during the offseason after being sidelined since the second half of the 2025/26 season. His absence was a major blow for both Tottenham and Ghana, as the 25-year-old missed the 2026 FIFA World Cup after failing to recover in time.

However, Tottenham’s latest training updates show Kudus back on the pitch, working towards full fitness ahead of the new season. He has been involved in individual drills and rehabilitation exercises to build strength and match readiness before returning to competitive action.

The 2026/27 season could mark a fresh start for the Ghanaian star, who will be determined to regain his best form and play a pivotal role in Tottenham’s plans.
