The allegations from Ghana were projected during the workshop
Ghana’s troubled history with match-fixing allegations has found its way onto an international stage after the country’s football scandals were used as a case study at a football integrity workshop in Cambodia.
Images showing Ghana Football Association (GFA) leadership were reportedly displayed on presentation screens during the workshop as organisers discussed the dangers of corruption and match manipulation in football.
The development has triggered strong reactions from Ghanaian football fans online, with many expressing embarrassment that controversies surrounding the Ghana Premier League have become an example for discussions on football integrity outside the country.
Ghana has previously been hit by high-profile match-fixing allegations, including the infamous Number 12 investigative documentary, which exposed alleged corruption and manipulation within Ghanaian football and led to several sanctions.

The development also comes at a time when the GFA is intensifying its efforts to prevent match manipulation.
GFA President Kurt Okraku on Thursday, August 20, 2026, announced at the 32nd GFA Ordinary Congress that betting companies would not be licensed to offer odds on domestic matches, citing the need to reduce incentives for match-fixing.
