Asante Kotoko have officially completed the return of goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad, bringing the former club captain back to Kumasi after a two-year spell in Ethiopia.

The 23-year-old has rejoined the Porcupine Warriors following his stint with Ethiopian Coffee SC, where he made more than 55 appearances and kept 28 clean sheets across all competitions.

Danlad's return marks a homecoming for a goalkeeper who has spent much of his career with Kotoko.

He joined the club as a teenager in 2016 and worked his way through the ranks before making his Ghana Premier League debut in the 2021/22 season, featuring in a 2-0 away victory over Aduana FC during Kotoko's title-winning campaign.

'I always knew I would return' - Ibrahim Danlad opens up

Speaking after completing his return, Danlad revealed that he always believed his journey with the club was not finished.

“I came here as a very young boy and even when I was leaving, I was still young. I had that kind of dream that definitely I was going to be back and continue the good work for this club,” he said.

Danlad also earned a place in Ghana's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after establishing himself as one of the country's promising young goalkeepers.

His return gives Kotoko an experienced option between the posts as they prepare for the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
