Ghanaian football fans have been left impressed by Rahim Ibrahim’s performance for Slovan Bratislava against Paris Saint-Germain, with some questioning why the midfielder was overlooked for Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

Ibrahim started for Slovan at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, as they faced the defending Champions League holders, PSG, in the opening round of the league phase.

Although Slovan suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat, Ibrahim’s individual display caught the attention of Ghanaian supporters watching from home.

The 25-year-old completed 60 minutes before being substituted, but his composure and work in midfield prompted a wave of reactions on social media.

Several fans drew comparisons with Mohammed Kudus, while others used the performance to revisit his absence from Ghana’s World Cup squad.

Questions were also raised over his youth international pathway, with one fan asking: “How come U17, U20, U23 skipped him?”

Others were even more direct, with one describing him as “another Kudus.”

Ibrahim’s latest outing adds another chapter to his rapid rise. After leaving Accra Lions for AS Trenčín in 2020, he joined Slovan Bratislava in 2025 and played all six of their Champions League qualifying matches this season.
