'Kurt Okraku is the worst GFA President in our history' – Ekow Assafuah declares

Member of the Youth and Sports Committee in Parliament, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has asserted that Kurt Okraku is the worst-performing President in the history of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

According to him, the GFA President’s approach to managing football activities across the country has been extremely poor, which he said is concerning.

This, he believes, has contributed to the dwindling fortunes of Ghana football, hence their decision to question him.

“We have no problem with Kurt Okraku as an individual; our concern is his leadership style. He is the worst-performing FA President in Ghanaian football history,” he said in an interview with Oyerepa FM.

Assafuah also raised concerns about how people in Kurt Okraku’s administration are quick to take on individuals who criticise their work with offensive comments.

The Old Tafo Constituency MP cautioned Kurt Okraku to welcome criticism and address the challenges, arguing that the GFA is not his property to mishandle.

“It is unfortunate that whenever we begin to ask questions about football, Kurt Okraku and his cohorts come at you and start insulting you, as if football were his father’s property,” he noted.

The GFA President has faced backlash in recent times from the MP for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour, who called for government intervention in the GFA but was sharply rebuked by the FA boss.
