Aduana FC’s late penalty against Swedru All Blacks has sparked a heated debate among football fans following the two sides’ Ghana Premier League clash at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

With the game finely poised at 1-1, Aduana were awarded a penalty in the closing stages after the referee adjudged that the ball had struck the arm of a player in the box.

The decision gave them a huge opportunity to complete their comeback after falling behind early in the game.

Stephen Amankona stepped up and converted from the spot, securing a 2-1 victory and completing his brace.

However, the decision to award the spot-kick has become one of the major talking points from the Matchday Five encounter, with fans debating whether the incident inside the All Blacks penalty area warranted a penalty.

The controversy has taken attention away from what was otherwise another impressive comeback by Aduana, who had trailed from the fourth minute after William Danquah gave the visitors the lead.

Amankona restored parity before half-time before All Blacks were reduced to ten men following Zayat Bubakari’s second yellow card.

The numerical advantage eventually proved decisive, although All Blacks remained competitive until the late penalty.

The victory extended Aduana’s winning run to three matches and moved them to fourth place with 10 points, while All Blacks remained 13th with five points.
