The 2026 Africa Basketball Festival will be hosted in Ghana
The Africa Basketball Festival (ABF) has become one of the sporting experiences that add to the “December in Ghana” experience. Over the years, ABF has brought together basketball fans, music and fashion lovers at a time when Ghana welcomes visitors from abroad.
December in Ghana has developed into a season built around experiences. From concerts and nightlife to food, fashion and cultural events, the period has become an important part of Ghana's tourism and entertainment calendar.
ABF adds to that experience by giving basketball a strong place within the December conversation.

Basketball is at the heart of the Africa Basketball Festival, but the experience extends well beyond the court.
International and local teams compete alongside music performances and fashion showcases, creating an environment that appeals to basketball fans and a wider audience. It is another way for people to experience Ghana during one of the country's busiest and most vibrant periods of the year.
ABF celebrated five years in 2025 with a five-day programme at the University of Ghana Basketball Court, featuring five (5) participating countries, five (5) fashion brands and five (5) musical performances. The basketball competition was won by Nigeria for the first time after Ghana dominated all four (4) previous editions.
This year, the Africa Basketball Festival will bring together eight (8) teams from eight (8) different countries, along with fashion showcases from six (6) of Ghana’s finest fashion houses and live performances from emerging artistes of the ABF Music Rising Star at the University of Ghana Basketball Court from December 9 to 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm daily.
