Abedi Ayew Pele has hailed the qualification of his Nania FC team to the finals of the MTN FA Cup as victory for quality football after they shocked League Champions Berekum Chelsea FC in the semi-finals.
Nania pulled off a major upset when they came back twice to take the tie into penalties and win 7-5 in the process.
It made up for a disappointing campaign in the Division One League where they failed yet again to reach the Premier Division but the three-time African Player of the Year who owns and coaches the side says he wants to take things one step at a time.
He said: "I am not surprised we won because we have worked hard over the last years and the players were keen for a big platform to prove just how good they are."
Qualification for the FA Cup Final also means an opportunity to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup and take their talent unto a bigger platform but Abedi says that is not the priority now.
"What is more important is to continue exhibiting wonderful football," he said. "We want to give fans great football. Africa is not our priority now at all."
