Referee Awal to handle President's Cup match

Accra, June 30, GNA - The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has appointed Tamale-based referee Mohammed Awal for the President's Cup match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, July 1, 2011.

Referee Awal will be assisted by Alidu Salifu Malik and Tanko Abdul Ganiyu, both from Tamale with Kumasi-based Ali Musa Plato as the fourth official.


According to GHALCA, Leanier Addy will act as the Match Commissioner. The one-off match is being organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) to commemorate the nation's 51st anniversary of attaining republican status.

The match is also to honour President John Evans Atta Mills on his achievement.
