Coach Addo to see through Aduana contract

Accra, July 21, GNA - Coach Herbert Addo plans to see through his

contract with former Premiership champions Aduana Stars despite growing

concerns and rumours that he wants to take a walk. A close source told GNA Sports that the former Accra Hearts of Oak and

Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach is caught up in re-negotiations with the

Dormaa-based Club to carry on his duties. The source said Coach Addo has a year left on his contract with Aduana

Stars, who made history two seasons ago by winning the Premier League as debutants.

"Coach Addo is not going anywhere. He has expressed his desire to see

through his contract with Aduana. Just discount all the speculations in the media," the source told GNA Sports.

Addo led the Dormaa-based Club to annex the Premiership at first attempt, but stayed under a lot of pressure after the local Black Stars poor showing at the second edition of the Championship of African Nations(CHAN) in Sudan earlier in the year.

The Stars who travelled to Sudan as runners-up in the maiden edition, lost all three games at the group stage to exit the biannual tourney designed for locally-based players by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Coach Addo is said to have endured a frosty relationship with the Club's management in the past season where Aduana failed to successfully defend their trophy.

It was alleged that Coach Addo was physically attacked by a fan after a goalless drawn game with Liberty Professionals at Dormaa and was also prevented from effecting a substitution by the Chief Executive of the Club, Kofi Manu during a League game.
