Pappoe gets overwhelming endorsement to Executive Committee

Accra, July 21, GNA - Incumbent Vice President of the Ghana Football

Association (GFA), Fred Pappoe has received an overwhelming endorsement to retain his place on the Executive Committee of the Federation. Pappoe who stood on the ticket of Accra Great Olympics FC to contest the

Division One election, pulled 41 points, seven less the total number of votes to pick one of the four slots reserved for the second tier of Ghana's League after one round of voting.

Closely following Pappoe, who is also Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee was George Kwasi Afriyie, former Chairman of All Blacks FC. Afriyie who also retained his place on the Executive Board chalked 36 votes with Wilfred Kwaku Osei representing Tema Youth pulling 30 votes at the first attempt.

Kweku Eyiah of Tarkwa United who beat Delali Senaye of Inter Allies by only a vote pulled 24 to gain his maiden appearance and to complete the four slots slated for the Board, which is regarded as the cabinet of Ghana football.

The contest which saw Nana Adjei Ampofo withdrawing from the race,recorded a full turnout by delegates who beamed with smiles every step along the way. The four join six others elected by the Premiership Clubs on Wednesday with the Regional Associations set to be the next to elect their representativesin the ensuing days.

The seven other candidates who contested are Delali Senaye (23 votes), Kingsley Osei Bonsu (11 votes), P. Hayford Cudjoe (seven votes), Oloboi Commodore (six votes), Ronald Jojo Duncan (five votes), Nimo Peter Kwasi (three votes) and Mac Paradise Okocha (two votes).
