Former Ghana striker Augustine Arhinful feels Dominic Adiyiah has dropped too low after his move to the Turkey second division but feels John Paintsil has made the right choice is going to the English Championships.

Adiyiah has joined Turkey division two side Karsiyaka on a one year loan deal from AC Milan while Paintsil has signed for Leicester City after his deal with Fulham expired.

Adiyiah's move has been the most shocking given that he was tipped for greatness after winning the best player and top goal scorer award enrout to Ghana's Under-20 World Cup winning performance in 2009.

He has since struggled during loan spells at Reggina and Partizan Belgrade but Arhinful who spent a chunk of his playing career in Turkey feels division two is not the right place for him.

“I think he could have made a better move. Belgium, Denmark and Holland could have been better than a Turkish second division side but all the same it’s good. Dede did the same thing Arles in France and he became a better player. Let us hope he does well there,” he told Accra-based Happy FM.

But he does not feel same about Paintsil's decision to join Sven Goran Eriksson's championship side.

“I think he made the right choice because the championship is very competitive and popular than some of the European top leagues and that is a fact.”

It's very important he gets regular playing time and that for me is more crucial for him to maintain his place in the Black Stars.

“It doesn’t make sense to warm the bench of a top-flight if you will play regular with a second division side so to speak.”
