AUSTRALIA-based Ghana boxer Joseph Kwadjo missed his connecting flight from Brisbane to Sydney and will not arrive in Fiji until next Tuesday.

The super middleweight boxer was scheduled to jet into the Nadi International Airport yesterday afternoon to prepare for a rematch against Zulfikar Joy Ali for the vacant World Boxing Foundation (WBF) super middleweight Intercontinental title in the Wild West Boxing Promotion next month.

However his trainer Gyan Singh was the only one that arrived.

Singh said Kwadjo was in a better shape for a rematch.

"Joseph is very fit and he has been preparing really well for this fight. He has trained hard and we just have to come here to be better than Joy Ali."

"He has made a lot of predictions but we want to better his predictions in the ring," Singh said.

"He missed his flight from Brisbane to Sydney because he went out training early in the morning. I was not with him but at my friend's home," he said.

Kwadjo boast an impressive 20 wins (KO 15) and five losses from 25 fights. He defeated Ali on unanimous points decision at the Vodafone Arena in 2009.

The 26-year-old boxer lost his last fight to Blake Caparello of Australia last month.

Singh is optimistic they would give Ali a tougher fight than what he went through two years ago in Suva.

The 12x3 super middleweight bout is scheduled for November 26 at Prince Charles Park.
