Dutchman Hans Van der Plym has confirmed signing a two-year deal to take charge of defending league champions Berekum Chelsea, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 62-year-old takes over from British coach Steve Polack who was sacked after the club’s shock 1-0 defeat at home to rivals Medeama SC on Sunday.
He will arrive in Berekum on Wednesday to begin preparations for Sunday’s trip to Wassaman.
“We have signed a two-year deal but we will observe him for about three months to see if he can lead the team,” Chief Executive Obed Nketiah told www.berekumchelsea.com
“We have confidence in him and he has the experience to lead the team come this Sunday. We feel it’s not late to still defend the trophy.
“The players need to understand him fast and get on as soon as possible.”
