Founded only last year, Accra Celtic Football Club has chalked some remarkable successes within this short period and even dreams of bigger things in the future with the aim of becoming one of the most successfully run club sides in Ghana.

The club competes alongside Accra New Town Youth, Mystical Royals, Golden Boys FC, Kwadjan Soccer, Academy, Pokuase United, Gbawe Young Rangers, Kutunse Great United, Accra Rangers, Super Wonders, Ajax Accra FC and Rot Weiss FC in the Greater Accra 2nd division league.

Accra Celtic FC is on the brink of qualifying to play in the zonal middle league that leads to qualification to the second tier of Ghana football and will move a step closer to that dream if they can beat Super Wonders at Taifa on Sunday.

With three games to end the league, Accra Celtic are placed fourth in Zone Six on 29 points and can close the gap on those above them if they can win this weekend?s game away to Taifa Super Wonders.

This is what Club President; Thomas Yeboah has promised they would do as they go into this battle needing all three points to enhance their position on the table as the season draws to a close.

The club hopes to win their remaining games which will put them in good steed for qualification to the middle league. That starts with this game against a Super Wonders side they drew goalless with in the first round. Their last two games will be at home to Kutunse Great United and away to Apenkwa Golden Boys and these are games new Coach of the side Henry Quansah has been tasked to win to keep the team in with a chance of playing in the middle league.

Coach Quansah, who has worked alongside coaches Allotey and J. E. Sarpong, in the past, is on an unbeaten run of two games and said his charges are poised to do well in these upcoming games which are must win ones.

The club looks set to pick one of the two slots available from the zone to the middle league which would feature the winners and runners up in each of the six zones to slot it out for a place in the national first division league next season.

Playing second tier football however is not the sole aim of the club as it plans bigger things in the future hoping to put in structures that would ensure that it becomes a very variable business entity as a football club.

Having the opportunity to play on the big stage would be good as that is what every football club aims for and according to Mr. Yeboah, Accra Celtic FC will try to be the best they can, competing with the very best in Ghana and beyond.

The Club has fought a very hectic battle to reach this far and will stop at nothing in ensuring that it gains notification in the annals of Ghana football having already produced players some of whom currently ply their trade outside Ghana. :
