Ada East DCE donates jerseys to 6 teams for Dragon Boat race

The District Chief Executive of Ada East in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Rex Daniel Wussah has presented 6 sets of jerseys to teams in the area as they prepare to compete in the 16-team dragon boat race on Saturday in Big Ada.

The Ghana Rafting and Dragon Boat Association are launching the latest dragon boats on Saturday in Big-Ada along with the race at an occasion expected to be graced by Sports Minister, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and his immediate predecessor, Hon. Clement Humado who is currently Minister of Agriculture. Other Ministers and Members of Parliament have also confirmed their attendance.

Hon. Wussah says the presentation of jerseys to the Ada teams is his motivation to them to excel in Saturday’s boat race and most importantly, inspire his people who are mainly into fishing and water-experienced to take the sport seriously as an avenue to churn out a professional career.

“I want to encourage them to hold unto dragon boats sports which I believe can take them far. It’s not just about paddling, it’s more about teamwork, hardwork and sportsmanship. We want them to understand that this sport can give them financial independence and also promote tourism,” Hon. Rex Wussah told www.sportsinghana.com exclusively.

The Ada East DCE added: “We want to make Ada proud by winning the boat race as we host the rest of the country. I’m also inviting all Ghanaians to come and witness Saturday’s big and exciting event.” Credit:
