The German-born Ghana international scored in the third minute after being set up by Maximilian Meyer in a thrilling game which ended 3-3.
Boateng had a wonderful game and proved his quality with accurate passes, speed and flair which drew applauds even from the home fans.
His return to duty is a major booster for his club Schalke as he has proven to be their livewire since joining them this summer from Milan.
