Ex-Ghana FA boss Nyaho Tamakloe has kicked against the return of veteran goalkeeper Richard Kingson for this month’s World Cup play-offs against Egypt.

The 35-year-old is making a return to the national team after a two-year absence after being named in the squad to face the Pharaohs on October 15.

But the former FA boss has criticized the decision to recall the Doxa Katokopias shot-stopper.

“It is a big, big, big no. We don’t need Kingson. He is aged and has lost his reflexes,’ Tamakloe said.

“We need to motivate the goalkeepers who are there at the moment. I don’t see the sense in calling Olele (Kingson) back into the team at this time.

“What message are you sending to the younger ones and those who have been in involved in the qualifiers all along?

“It’s a poor decision which must not be allowed to stand. He has done his bit for the country; it’s time we moved on.”

The former Blackpool gloves man is expected to fight for a starting role with current number one Fatau Dauda ahead of the must-win game against the North African side at the Baba Yara stadium in two weeks.
