Ghanaian pugilist, Isaac Quaye will train in Algeria in preparedness for his epic bid for the Commonwealth Flyweight title bid in the United Kingdom next year, Sportsinghana.com can exclusively report.

Quaye fondly nicknamed Pretty Boy Junior, 25-4-1, 16 KOs gets the opportunity to fight for the international belt he has always craved when he faces incumbent champion, Kevin Satchell at the Echo Arena, Liverpool, Merseyside, UK on March 7, 2014, just the day after Ghana’s 57thIndependence Day celebrations.

It will be a fourth defence of the title for Satchell who first claimed the belt on May 19, 2012 over Paul Edwards in the same Liverpool where he’s also made all his three successful defences since in his 11-fight unbeaten career.

But 33 year old Quaye has vowed to overcome whatever impediment the 25 year old Satchell (11-0, 2 KOs) offers in the ring in March. It is in light of this that the Ghanaian boxer’s astute managerial team have arranged for the 3-week trip to Algeria to train and acclimatize ahead of the journey to England.

Accordingly, Quaye is expected to depart Ghana in the company of his trainer, Rexford Akosah, assistant trainer Richard Ashie Neequaye as well as masseur Samuel Annan on December 28 and return on January 28 next year to begin final preparations for the fight within a little over a month.

Seasons Travel and Tours who sponsor the boxer are taking care of return air tickets to and fro Algeria for the entire Isaac Quaye team whilst Algiers-based Dahou Promotions have offered to provide accommodation and hospitality to the team when they arrive in the North African country.

“I am so grateful to Seasons Travels for their support. They have done a lot for me and to pay for me and my team to go and train in Algeria is just wonderful and we are determined to work hard to make them proud,” Quaye told www.sportsinghana.com exclusively.
