Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has described Schalke’s performance against Bayern Munich as “horrible”.
Pep Guardiola's side romped past the Gelsenkirchen outfit in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Arjen Robben bagged a hat-trick to help the runaway leaders to a 5-1 win. It was the second defeat in a week for Jens Keller’s men after a humiliating 1-6 rout in the hands of Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League.
Boateng is dumfounded and rated their overall output in the past few days as atrocious.
“I don’t have any words for the defeat,” the distraught midfielder said in a post-match interview. “It was a horrible day, a horrible week overall.”
He added: “I don’t know why Bayern played so well, we were so bad. I’m not alone on the pitch. Of course I try to keep the guys up, but that’s not easy.”
Schalke's next game is against TSG Hoffenheim.
