Ghanaian giants Accra Great Olympics secured their return to the country’s top-flight on Friday after defeating Tema Youth 2-1 in the play-off decider in Kumasi.

The capital-based side are making a return to the top-flight after four years in the second-tier league following their relegation in 2010.

Tema Youth, who got evicted from the top-flight last season, got off their mark early and scored the opener in the 18th minutes through Isaac Nyarko.

Two minutes before the break, Razak Tahiru equalized and that gave the needed impetus to stage a comeback.

Olympics from the break revitalized and needed seven minutes to get what turned out to be the winning goal courtesy Jospeh Armah.

But the match was halted on two occasions when Tema Youth player walked off the pitch in protest of unfair officiating by referee Joseph Lamptey.

In the 83rd minute, Tema Youth thought they were denied a legitimate penalty when Ekow Benson went down inside the box but Lamptey had whistled for offside.

The players and officials of the Tema-based side stormed off and had to be coerced to return.

Great Olympics finished at the summit of the zone III table with nine points.
