Former Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan has squashed reports linking him to the Heart of Lions job.
The former Ghana U23 coach claims his unresolved contractual dispute with Hearts of Oak prevents him from taking up another coaching job.
Duncan had his contract terminated in November last year and reported the matter to the Ghana FA’s Status Committee where they ruled he was to be compensated US$ 40,000 for his unlawful dismissal.
Until the club pay that amount, Duncan will be unable to coach any other club until the expiration of his contract in November.
“It is never true that I have been approached by Heart of Lions,” Duncan told Graphic Sports.
“As it stands now I wouldn’t be able to accept any job until November when I have negotiated my compensation package with Hearts.
“I will be ready to coach after everything has been cleared with Hearts.” Lions are looking for a replacement for Yusif Abubakar who is set to join Hearts of Oak.
