..; players apply for floating status
While Alhaji Grusah is tirelessly fighting the Ghana Football Association and preparing for a FIFA appeal, he seems to have more problems crippling his efforts as majority of his players have applied for floating status at the GFA’s Status Committee.
Grusah’s hands are getting more sticky and must clean the spill quickly if he is to keep his team together to stage a fight for a return to the Ghanaian top-flight next season.
According to claims in the local media, over 60% of the club’s players have applied for floating status at the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee, the paper which would give them the guarantee to leave the Kumasi-based club and join new once.
While the outspoken and controversial administrator has taken to persuasive means to convince the players to rescind their decisions, according to the reports, he could as well lose majority of them as his hands are sticky with unpaid bonuses and salaries for months.
An aggrieved player told Sports Crusader: “When I signed for the team in the 2009/10 season, I was supposed to have been given five thousand Ghana cedis, (GH 5000). But as I am talking to you now, I have only been given five hundred cedis (GH 500) since 2010.”
Grusah has threatened to report the Ghana Football Association to FIFA over what he claims to be an unfair relegation of his club, an action he is yet to take.
