The Ministry of Youth and Sports wishes to inform the general public that the launch of the National Keep Fit Campaign would take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, 20th of September, 2014 at 9:00 am.
President John Dramani Mahama would officially launch the campaign which is expected to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases, the national health expenditure, enhance national productivity and ultimately create a healthier and productive nation.
About 3000 participants and dignitaries, representing National institutions, Security Agencies, Diplomatic Corps, Corporate and civil organizations and a number of keep fit clubs in Ghana have been invited to participate in the launch.
Participants are to note that the Obra Spot, Kwame Nkrumah Circle and the Trade Fair Center, La, are the designated starting points for the keep fit walk, which begins at 6:00am prompt.
The Ministry, apart from the national launch, also plans to launch this exercise at the regional and district levels to give it a truly national character.
