Ex-Asante Kotoko skipper and TP Mazembe midfielder, Daniel Nii Adjei has called on the management and technical team of his former club to consider determined Bernard Don Bortey to don the red jersey even if it is for the shortest stint.

The former Accra Hearts of Oak winger is believed to have written a lengthy letter to current management of the club to offer him a short contract to play for the club, even if it is for once before hanging his boots.

Daniel Nii Adjei has therefore interceded on the former U-17 star’s behalf, with a plea to the management and technical team of the club to grant the player his request by offering him a short contract.

In an interview with sporstcrusader.com, Nii Adjei said, “I think they should offer him the chance. The player has stated he is dying to wear the red jersey for once in his lifetime to compete for the club. It is his dream to add Asante Kotoko to the clubs he has played for in his career. I think he should be considered”.

“But it depends on Kotoko, if they think they need him, they should give him the chance. But I feel that he should be given the chance”, he added.

Daniel Nii Adjei played for Kotoko for six years and captained the club for 2 years.
