Ghana goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda says he is not worried that Razak Braimah has been chosen ahead of him as the Black Stars first choice shot-stopper during the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.
Dauda was Ghana's safest pair of hands during the 2103 Nations Cup held in South Africa and was also able to dislodge Adam Kwarasey after Ghana first game at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Many expected Dauda to therefore be handed a starting role at the 2015 AFCON, but that has not been the case, with new coach Avram Grant favouring Spain based Razak Braimah.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference before Ghana’s quarter-final game against Guinea on Sunday, Dauda says there’s a strong sense of unity among the three goalkeepers selected for the tournament.
“If a team will become successful, it will depend on the goalkeepers, we as goalkeepers are united, and that is why the Black Stars is moving forward gradually. If one of the three goalkeepers is selected, the rest of us support him. If we win, we win together and if we lose, we lose together.”
Braimah is expected to be in post for the game against Guinea in Malabo, unless injury strikes.
