The results of the latest poll are in and reveal that the Goal Ghana readers wanted Jeffrey Schlupp to return to Avram Grant’s Black Stars squad for this week’s friendlies.

Speaking to the media recently, the Israeli coach indicated that although he wanted to keep faith with the players who had guided Ghana to the 2015 African Nations Cup final, he would also open the door to new faces.

“It will not be all of them, but 60-70 percent will be in there if they continue to show quality, development, good mentality and good spirit,” the national team coach began, speaking to Citi FM, “they will continue because this is their time.”

Following Grant’s comments, we asked Goal readers which of a seven-man selection you would most like to see invited to the Black Stars fold.

Leicester City full-back Schlupp topped the poll, with 36.2 percent of you identifying him as the player you would most like to see named in the squad for the March friendlies.

It seems Grant agrees, and the left-sider is one of only three new faces to have been invited back for the games against Senegal and Mali.

However, none of the other players to have featured in our poll selection have been called-up by Grant.

This may disappoint Daniel Opare, as well as the 27.5 percent of you who wanted the former Real Madrid and Standard Liege man back in the fold. The versatile defender has impressed on loan at Besiktas in recent months, but Grant has opted to stick with Harrison Afful, Solomon Asante and Daniel Amartey as possibilities for the right-back role.

Intriguingly, despite four of the players in our seven-player poll being uncapped, Albert Adomah—arguably the most experienced among them—who is the second-least popular with the Goal readers. Even though the versatile wideman is looking good for Premier League promotion with Middlesbrough in the Championship, he accrued a meagre 6 percent of the vote.

Elvis Manu, Feyenoord’s expert dribbler, received 12.8 percent of the vote, Godfred Donsah picked up 7.6 percent and Mitch Apau brought up the panel with only 2.7 percent.

Finally, only 7.1 percent of you want Enoch Kofi Adu, who was named in Grant’s preliminary squad ahead of the Afcon, to return to the fold.
