Dieter Schmidt mourns Michael Asante's death

German coach Hans Dieter Schmidt has paid tribute to his former player Michael Asante who died on Wednesday.

Asante played for the Porcupine Warriors for close to four seasons and was one of the trusted men of Schmidt during his tenure.

Schmidt posted on his Facebook page: “I’m so sad. My former player of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, Michael Asante died [Wednesday] in a hospital in Accra. He was a very kind person and a professional player. I will keep him in my heart forever.

“R.I.P Michael.”
