Kumasi Asante Kotoko skipper Michael Akuffo is confident that his team will bounce back following a disappointing 2-2 draw with New Edubiase on Sunday at the Bekwai Gyamfi Park.

The Porcupine Warriors were cruising to a 2-1 win before former Black Stars winger Haminu Dramani equalised for Edubiase in the 88th minute.

Although Akuffo was frustrated after his side lost two points, he remains optimistic they would overcome Kpando Heart of Lions in Kumasi on Sunday.

“It was good game but it was rather unfortunate that we were held to a draw. We conceded a late minute goal and it was so painful,” Akuffo told Goal.

“Our next game is at home against Kpando Heart of Lions. We are going into it with a winning mentality and will never drop our guard. We will secure all the three points at stake,” he said.

Akuffo, who has been the focal point in the Kotoko midfield, also emphasised that the arrival of coach David Duncan has changed things for the better at the club.

“The team has been great under coach Duncan. We are taking it game after game and we will improve more as the season continues.”

Kotoko won the league last season but are currently 9th on the table having drawn their last two games.
