Ghana midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari could make a switch to Everton during the summer transfer window as talks between his representatives and the Toffees are reported to have reached an advanced stage.

The 30-year-old had a difficult season at current club Milan which saw him playing only 16 games and scoring two goals.

He was dropped from the Rossoneri first team weeks to the end of the Serie A campaign and has been informed that he no longer has a future with the 2007 Uefa Champions league winners.

According to Liverpool Echo, negotiations between Muntari’s agent and Everton are near fruition and a deal could be inked soon, to the joy of manager Roberto Martinez, who has also expressed interest in the player.

Muntari has Premier League experience from his FA Cup success with Portsmouth in 2007 and his stint at Sunderland on loan in 2011.

With just one year left on his existing Milan contract, the Toffees are expected to pay not more than €3 million to land the central midfielder.

A move to England will benefit Muntari in his quest for consideration into the Black Stars when he finally sends his apology to the Ghana Football Association this month over the Brazil 2014 World Cup incident which led to his indefinite suspension from the national team.

He has featured 83 times for Ghana, scoring 21 goals.
