Appiah's Roma "Jigsaw Puzzle" Unfolding

Fri, 30 May 2003 Source:

FACT: The coach of Serie A side Brescia, Carlo Mazzone, announced his intention of leaving, in an interview held with reporters today.

"After three wonderful seasons I decided it was the right moment to stop. Better like this, on the right note," said Mazzone.

RUMOR: This decision might mean that Mazzone will make a shock return back to Roma, a move that looks always more probable now that Capello and Sensi are on a collision course.

FACT: It was Mazzone who brought Stephen Appiah on loan from Parma to Bescia. The veteran coach happens to be a big fan of the Ghana captain.

FACT: Appiah had a great season with Bescia.

HYPOTHESIS: Mazzone's exit from Brescia has thrown Appiah's future into doubt. If Appiah's "Numero Uno" fan moves to Roma, guess who he'll take along.....
