Reports reaching Sports Crusader indicates that Ghana’s contingent at the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville decided to boycott the official closing ceremony of the Games due to poor treatment by their host.

Team Ghana were suppose to join 52 other nations to parade at the Kintele stadium at 5:00pm on Saturday for the closing ceremony but the Ghanaian officials have decided to vacate their hotel premises and leave for the airport ahead of time.

Ghana will thus not partake in the closing ceremony as expected.

A notice pasted at the entrance of Ghana’s Hotel at the Games Village read;

“Due to the treatment meted out to team Ghana by our host at the Games Village, We have decided to boycott the closing ceremony.

On Saturday Sept, 19 2015, Bus Leaves the Games Village to Airport At Exactly 4pm Since there will be closure of major roads on the day”

It is not yet known how the Ghanaian contingent were treated by the host nation but the act of boycotting the games will apparently overshadow the multi-sport competition and invite the wrath of organisers.

Congolese president Denis Sassou Nguesso is expected to officially close the games at the Kintele stadium on Saturday.
