Tue, 29 Jul 2003 Source: .

The dispute, Charles Taylor will be heard tomorrow at the Cocoa Affairs Court after defending league champions, Accra Hearts of Oak filed a writ for proper interpretation of the relevant football rules. Hearts of Oak filed the writ today praying the court to restrain the GFA and Asante Kotoko from going ahead with the registration of Taylor for any competition until the court determines the case.

Hearts Of Oak’s writ is to determine whether the phobians would be entitled to any sums in respect of the transfer fee pertaining to the registration of Taylor by Asante Kotoko.

With the legal vacation only days away, Charles Taylor’s hopes of playing for Asante Kotoko, his intended new club might be dashed, as the courts would be going for their vacation.

The ban on Taylor, which according to the FA’s ruling should elapse on August 3rd, stated that the player was free to play for any club of his choice following a correspondence from FIFA to the FA.

But Hearts Board Secretary, Ernest Thompson says it was agreed at a meeting on Thursday at the FA secretariat that Hearts negotiate the transfer of Charles Taylor with Asante Kotoko as stated by article 31 (2) (ii) of the FA’s bye-laws.

Hearts shocked by the sudden turn of events that states that Charles Taylor is free to join Asante Kotoko without any further compensation to them have filed a writ restraining the registration of the player and an interpretation of the football rules.
