The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has launched the much-anticipated six-club tournament dubbed “G6” tournament in Sekondi, Tarkoradi on Thursday.

The tournament fixed for January 7 to 10, 2016, will see the six clubs divided into two groups to engage in an all-play-play-all format with the winners of each group advancing to the finals.

FA Cup winners Medeama, and Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars have been housed in Group A, with league champions Ashgold, dethroned league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea playing in Group B.

GHALCA, has over the years organised the much envied Top Four Tournament but failed to stage the competition in recent years due to financial challenges.

The G6 comes as a replacement for the Top Four Tournament.
