Asokwa Deportivo striker Joel Fameyeh rejected a lucratice deal to join Swedish side BK Hacken for a trial in France.

The local Black Stars forward is expected to join Ghana Premier League side Wa All Stars if the trial in France is not successful.

Joel Femeyeh had stupendous performances for Division One side Asokwa Deportivo and his scoring form for the home-based national team with a brace against Cote d’Ivoire in Kumasi.

The 19-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Kumasi Asante Kotoko, but he snubbed the record Ghana Premier league winners for a trial with an unnamed French club.

And it has emerged that not only did the the highly rated youngster snubbed Kotoko, he also rejected a mouthwatering move to Hacken despite the club agreeing to sign without details of his quality.

“I got a very good deal for (Joel) Famayeh and Baba Mensah at BK Hacken and both were expected to fly there for negotiations,” former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder Yussif Chibsah told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

“The deal was same for both players though the club had watched videos of Baba Mensah, there was a scanty information we could get on Famayeh but I still convinced them as to why the player was very good for the club.

“They agreed and prepared a bid for him but when the time came for him to turn up, he and his management failed to show up without any explanation.

Yussif Chibsah, who was behind Daniel Amartey’s successful move to English Premier league, Leicester City, revealed Joel Femeyeh’s move to Sweden was not for trials.

“He wasn’t going for trials, he was going to play on-loan for a full season with an option of extending for three years.

“I was suprised and still surprised why he turned down the offer…it is very sad but I cannot complain that much,” Chibsah added.

Joel Femeyeh moved to Wa All Stars on the Ghanaian transfer market deadline day, and will join the Wa based club if his rumoured trials in France fails to materialize.
