Medeama SC skipper, Muntari Tagoe has called for calm among the club’s supporters following the Tarkwa based side’s unimpressive start to the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Having been tipped as one of the favourites to win this season’s league, the Mauve and Yellows suffered a shocking 2-0 defeat at home to Hearts, which followed their 2-1 defeat at Ashantigold on the opening weekend of Ghana’s top-flight.

The back to back defeats have sparked speculations about a potential crisis in the camp of Medeama which led to the club’s release of a statement to deny reports which claim the future of coach Tom Strand has been discussed.

The MTN FA Cup and Super Cup holders travel to Kumasi to face Kotoko on Sunday and captain Muntari Tagoe has urged the club’s fans to remain resolute behind the team.

“The past few weeks have been tough for us but we’ll not crumble,” he told Tarkwa-based Medeamaa FM, adding that, “We are not daunted at all. We are disappointed but we’ll move forward with hope.

“I will just urge the fans to be patient with us and remain resolute behind us. There are more games to play and hopefully we can get the required results.”
