Medeama coach Tom Strand
Former head coach of Medeama SC, Tom Strand has disclose that the management of the club knew about his decision quitting the club due to his situation at the club.
Tom Strand left the club to his hometown after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns in their CAF Confederation match played in South Africa.
Medeama SC have been performing torridly in this year’s premier league campaign under Tom Strand.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, he said, “For me my time with the team was up so I needed to go back to my family and discuss some private issues.”
“I informed the management of the club and I have been explaining my situation to them so leaving the team was based on my decision.”
He continued, “You can be selfish and impulsive but my situation at the club was not durable at the time so I have to leave and I want to say that it never true that the club was buying matches for me as quoted by my agent so it a big fallacy. Personally I have not spoken to my agent to confirm that to me if he was the one who said it but I know the team is in a good hands and I know they can perform but for now am not coming back to Ghana because I have resigned from my position as the head coach of the club.”
“I am not sure the club can report me to fifa and I will not understand why the club will do that because I have done a lot for the club and everybody have a private opinion and am not sure I have done anything wrong because I spoke to the management and they gave me a reply so it feels good.” He added.
Medeama will be hoping to eliminate Mamelodi Sundowns in their CAF confederation return league at the Essipon Sports Stadium on Wednesday May 18.
