Chinese side Shanghai SIPG are seeking to shift injury-ravaged Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan off their books,as they look to offload the striker’s multimillion dollar wages.

According to South China Morning Post, the Chinese side want to offload their big-name striker due to his current injury predicament.

The former Sunderland hitman joined the Asian side from Al Ain in a mega deal last year.

The Ghana striker is reported to be on a $350,000 a week deal, making him one of the best paid footballers in the world.

But recurrent injuries have robbed the Ghana star the chance to justify the huge investment, prompting officials to tinker with the idea of offloading him.

According to widespread reports in China on Monday, Gyan will be sold at the next available opportunity as the side look to offload the striker’s multimillion dollar wages and free up one of the four non-AFC federation spots in their squad.

Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is getting to used to life at the club without the African star as persistent injuries have rocked his career in the Asian region.

Already the Chinese side have lined up Zenit St Petersburg’s Brazilian striker Hulk as his potential replacement.
