Ghana Football Association communications director Ibrahim Sannie Daara has dispelled speculations that the outfit have reached out to 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winning coach Hugo Broos to take over the vacant Black Stars job.

The 2015 Afcon finalists are in a search for a successor to Avram Grant, who left upon expiration of his two-year contract at the end of February.

Broos recently led Cameroon to win the Afcon in Gabon, after beating Ghana in the semi-finals.

“It is never true that the FA has contacted Hugo Broos," Sannie told Ghana Soccer Net.

"I can say with all certainty that no such decision has been taken.

“I think some people are just trying to put up their agenda and are trying to draw the GFA in."

Although still under contract with Cameroon, Broos has also been linked to the South African national team, following his announcement as one of several men to have applied for the job.

"Broos has not been approached and it must be treated as such," Sannie added.

“We named a six-member committee just on Tuesday, and they are even yet to commence their work, so where from this?

“We have heard the names of a lot of coaches who are reported to be close to the job yet they have not grabbed it. So let’s treat all these are rumours."

The six-man GFA committee tasked with vetting Ghana's new coach announced a deadline of March 10 for submission of applications.

The committee could also head hunt suitable candidates.
