The approximately 6km run started 6:30 am
On the 60th Independence Day of Ghana, Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park held the 7th edition of the Lakeside Marina/Happy FM Family Fun Run, at the Lakeside Marina Estates in Ashaley Botwe.
Aimed at encouraging exercising, good health and healthy lifestyles, the annual event saw over three hundred participants, comprising families, individuals, and school teams.
The approximately 6km run started 6:30 am and saw participants run through a mapped-out route in the Lakeside Estates and surrounding areas in Ashaley Botwe.
At the end of the race and all other activities, awards and prizes from sponsors were given to winners in different categories.
Among the winners were Mercy Senior High School for the Fastest School Team (Snr) & Ebenezer Mission Academy for the Fastest School Team (Jnr).
Fastest CEO went to Dr. Prince Ayiku, MD of Lakeside Estate as well as Nana Kwaku K. Adamfo and Ms. Alip Hari who won awards for fastest man and fastest woman respectively. Mohammed Baruti won the Fastest Man over 60 years award.
The Fastest Family Award was won by the Baah Family, as the Fastest Child, male and female categories, were won by David Akrofi and Sophia Baah (Jnr).

Mr. Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Director of Lake Side Estates, expressed his delight with the event and commented, “We appreciate our loyal participants and everyone who has made it to today’s event.

Participants were treated to a special medical check-up from Focos Oorthopaedic Hospital, the official medical sponsor of the 2017 Family Fun Run.
The Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Family fun Run was sponsored by Japan Motors, Global Media Alliance, e.TV Ghana, YFM Ghana, Branch Fitness Centre, Aqua Fill Mineral Water, Star Property Management, Oman Fofor and Focos Orthopaedic Hospital.
