AshantiGold supporters Chairman Kweku Jonah has lamented on the sudden resignation of coach Bashir Hayford from the club.
AshantiGold faithful were stunned this morning by the news that their coach Bashir Hayford has tendered in his resignation letter citing reason as being personal.
The gaffer was reported to pondering his future earlier this week after management handed his technical bench a three-match ultimatum but decided to stay on and turn the club’s fortunes.
“We have accepted it but it’s very painful. He (Bashir Hayford) has done his best for the club. He won the league for us after years of failure then all of a sudden this morning we hear that he has decided to quit,” he told Happy FM.
“All he said in the letter was that it’s a personal decision, he didn’t say we the supporters attacked him or management forcibly asked him to vacate the position, but if it’s personal as he stated in the letter then we wish him all the best in his next adventure.”
The Miners are 15th on the standings with 7 points from 8 matches.
