Super eagles under pressure

Super Eagles Nigeria Nigerian National Football Team

It would be understatement to say South Africa’s Bafana Bafana could travel all the way to Oyo State in Nigeria to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria whose performance under their expatriate coach Gernot Rohr was awesome.

In terms of current form and positions in the recent Fifa and Caf rankings South Africa come nowhere near Nigeria whose worst results in all their previous matches played so far ever since their German coach took over the team from Coach Sunday Oliseh was a draw.

Super Eagles after winning the 2013 Afcon tournament under the late Steven Keshi have failed to book a place in the Afcon held in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Football Pundits did not give Bafana Bafana a dog chance to even secure a draw against a much more improved Super. Football they say is full of uncertainties that were why South Africa was able to go Nigeria to pick the three maximum points at stake.

Super Eagles went into this game with their previous record over Bafana Bafana and therefore thought they were going to bury their opponent, but that proved fiasco.

Unfortunately for Super Eagles, Bafana Bafana proved to them that he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day, and that their intention to register another victory over Bafana Bafana remained in their head.

Bafana Bafana fought like a wounded lion to beat their opponent by 2-0. Super Eagles were even lucky to have conceded more than 2 goals found in their basket.

I strongly believe Super Eagles will put their defeat behind them and go to the drawing board and correct their mistakes and bounce back in their upcoming matches in the first round against Libya and Seychelles.
