? Law Court remains an option!
The management of Mine Stars Football Club has warned Ghana Football Association on the dangers of commencing the 2004 Premier league without the Prestea based club.
In an exclusive interview with SPACE FM this afternoon, the vice chairman of the club, Mr. Scade Adams swore thunder and brimstone to fight till the relegated club is reinstated in the Premier league.
When Scade Adams was quizzed on their intended line of action, he did not hesitate to mention the Law Court as the last resort, adding that the club is aware of the consequences of the said action.
According to him, Mine Stars were treated unfairly as all attempts to get the GFA Disciplinary and Grievance Committee to reverse the sanctions meted out to them as a result of the controversy surrounding the eligibility of one Adu Gyamfi who featured in their league matches against Hearts of Oak and Okwawu United.
He added that the last straw that broke the back of the camel was the assurance given to them by the football authorities which was not honoured. He said the officials of B.A. United, Goldfields, Gold Stars and Mines Stars were asked to convince their supporters who had taken the F.A. to court to withdraw the cases whilst effort was being made to increase the teams for the 2004 league from 16 to 18.
He revealed that the said meeting was attended by the minister of Education Youth and Sports (MYES) and his deputy, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Wiredu and Joe Aggrey respectively. Also in attendance was the minister of state in charge of MYES, Hon. Rashid Bawa, the then F.A. boss, Ben Koufie and the GHALCA chairman, Mr. J.Y. Appiah.
Meanwhile, the vice chairman of GFA, Kwasi Nyantakyi has told SPACE FM that nothing would stop the F.A. from seeing to the commencement of the league on Saturday, May 22, 2004.
